Senior Mask Design Engineer - Hardware
Role Summary
Perform physical mask/layout design for high-speed mixed-signal circuits to be integrated into VLSI products. Work with ASIC and mixed-signal teams to implement and verify custom layouts in advanced sub-micron CMOS processes.
Experience Level
Senior - minimum 8+ years industry experience.
Responsibilities
Deliver mask-level layout and verification for mixed-signal blocks and support integration into ASICs.
- Perform physical layout for mixed-signal functions (PLLs, high-speed SerDes, ADCs, ESD structures) using Cadence custom layout tools.
- Collaborate with ASIC and mixed-signal design teams to customize layouts for product integration and floorplanning.
- Create custom layout, perform schematic vs. layout checks, and verify adherence to design rules.
- Run and debug verification flows (DRC/LVS and other signoff checks) and resolve issues with foundry/tool flows.
- Automate and customize verification decks and tooling as required to meet tapeout schedules.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience for immediate contribution.
- Minimum 8+ years industry experience in analog/mixed-signal mask/layout design.
- Deep understanding of analog circuit layout concepts in sub-micron CMOS technologies.
- Expertise with Cadence custom circuit design tools.
- Experience with verification and debugging tools such as Dracula, Hercules, Calibre, and PrimeYield.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Perl, Python, Skill) for automation and tooling.
- Practical knowledge of DRC and LVS checking flows and ability to customize decks.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent practical experience. The posting explicitly allows equivalent experience in place of the degree.
