Role Summary

The Senior Mask Design Engineer will design and deliver detailed physical layouts for silicon interposers used in NVIDIA products. The role works cross-functionally with the Package Technical Lead, I/O signal integrity, technology, and other design teams to meet schedule, cost, manufacturability, and electrical requirements.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Collaborate with package technical lead, signal integrity, and technology engineers to define and deliver package layout solutions on tight schedules.
• Perform physical layout for silicon interposers using Cadence tools (Virtuoso).
• Conduct feasibility studies evaluating size, cost, and system performance trade-offs for package designs.
• Develop floorplans, perform custom layout, and verify designs against design rules and netlists.
• Propose layout trade-offs to the PTL and support implementation and resolution of design issues.

Requirements

Must-have technical qualifications and skills; nice-to-have items listed separately.

• Must-have: Minimum 5+ years proven experience in mask and layout design for silicon interposers or similar IC/package layouts.
• Must-have: Deep understanding of layout concepts in submicron CMOS technologies.
• Must-have: Expert user of Cadence Virtuoso (Cadence layout tools).
• Must-have: Experience with verification tools and flows such as Calibre, ICV, Thunder (running and debugging checks).
• Must-have: Proficiency in scripting (Perl, Python, Skill or similar) to automate flows and debug issues.
• Must-have: Knowledge of DRC and LVS checking flows and ability to customize decks.
• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with Integrity auto-routing and APD package layout tools.
• Nice-to-have: Experience proposing layout trade-offs and working within cross-functional package teams.

Education Requirements
