Senior Manager, Verification

Role Summary

Lead and manage the verification organization for digital and mixed-signal integrated circuits at Semtech's Hyderabad site. Responsible for verification strategy, team development, resource allocation, and on-time delivery across multiple concurrent projects.

Experience Level

Senior-level — requires 8+ years of integrated circuit design verification experience and at least 3+ years in a technical leadership or management role.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include technical leadership, verification strategy, and cross-functional coordination.

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of verification engineers; manage deliverables, schedules and resource allocation across projects.
• Track and report verification progress using quantitative metrics and coverage analysis; identify and mitigate verification risks.
• Define and implement verification plans, test strategies, coverage models and verification environments for digital/mixed-signal designs.
• Oversee design and implementation of complex testbenches using SystemVerilog and UVM; manage RTL, gate-level and AMS verification.
• Develop directed tests, constrained-random environments, reusable verification components, and drive coverage closure (functional, code, assertions).
• Establish and maintain continuous integration, regression testing, scoreboards, monitors and checkers; improve verification scalability and automation.
• Coordinate with system, digital hardware, embedded firmware, analog and cross-functional teams; provide technical support to silicon lab, test, product and application engineers.
• Drive adoption of advanced verification methodologies, best practices and tool evaluations.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications and technical skills required for the role.

• 8+ years of industry experience in integrated circuit design verification.
• 3+ years in a technical leadership or management role.
• Proven track record of successful tape-outs for complex digital or mixed-signal designs.
• Deep experience in verification of mixed-signal ICs with MCU-based hardware systems (ARM, RISC-V, PIC, STM32), memories, custom micro-architecture, interfaces and analog peripherals.
• Proficiency in SystemVerilog and UVM; strong knowledge of Verilog and VHDL.
• Experience with scripting (Python, Perl) and debugging verification environments.
• Familiarity with industry EDA verification tools (Synopsys, Cadence, Siemens).
• Experience with standard hardware protocols such as I2C, I3C, SPI and MIPI.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal and written communication skills; ability to manage competing priorities.

Nice-to-have:

• Knowledge of system-level signal processing, mixed-signal modeling, embedded firmware and application testing.
• Experience with analog block behavioral modeling (SV RNM/Verilog/VHDL).
• Experience with consumer and/or ITA market circuit development.

Education Requirements

B.S. or M.S. in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
