Senior Manager, Secure Engineering Enablement
Role Summary
Senior security leader responsible for defining and delivering the Secure Engineering Enablement roadmap across Arm's IP and Silicon businesses. The role partners with engineering, product security, IT, legal and commercial teams to protect intellectual property and engineering data while enabling engineering delivery at pace.
Experience Level
Senior β leadership/manager level. Significant prior enterprise security experience, preferably in semiconductor or related engineering environments.
Responsibilities
Lead strategic security enablement and provide trusted technical counsel to engineering and cross-functional teams.
- Develop and deliver a strategic roadmap for secure engineering enablement aligned to engineering roadmaps and enterprise risk.
- Act as a security thought partner across design, development, manufacturing, tooling, infrastructure and collaboration models.
- Drive security-by-design adoption by embedding controls, guardrails and risk-informed decision making into engineering processes.
- Provide guidance on IP protection, EDA/tooling ecosystems, secure workspaces and engineering data protection.
- Translate emerging threats, regulatory expectations and customer requirements into priorities, measurable improvements and guidance.
- Advise on security architecture and threat modelling to identify risks early and embed appropriate controls.
- Create governance, metrics and reporting to show delivery performance and security effectiveness.
- Champion innovation in secure engineering practices, including automation, data insight and AI-enabled tooling.
Requirements
Core skills and experience required for success in this role.
- Extensive enterprise security experience within the semiconductor industry, with strong understanding of IP development and silicon engineering lifecycles.
- Proven enterprise security architecture experience developing practical principles, patterns, roadmaps and assurance approaches.
- Track record leading strategic projects and delivering results through collaboration and influence.
- Deep knowledge across security domains: architecture, GRC, IAM, data protection, secure development, cloud/infrastructure security, third-party risk and security operations.
- Excellent communication skills; able to explain complex security issues to technical and non-technical senior audiences.
- Strong stakeholder and customer management skills with experience influencing engineering, product, legal, procurement, commercial and executive teams.
- Awareness of semiconductor supply chain security considerations including supplier assurance and third-party collaboration.
- Commercial awareness and ability to balance risk, delivery, cost and engineering efficiency.
- Experience developing people and fostering a culture of trust, accountability and continuous learning.
Education Requirements
Preferred: BSc or MSc (or equivalent experience) in cybersecurity, computer science, electronic engineering, semiconductor engineering or a related subject. Certifications mentioned as desirable include CISSP, SABSA, TOGAF, CCSP, CISM and CRISC; cloud/security architecture credentials are also listed as beneficial. Equivalent practical experience is acceptable.
