Senior Manager, Product Engineering
Role Summary
Lead the Module Product Engineering function for advanced power modules from new-product introduction (NPI) through high-volume production and sustaining. Manage a team of product engineers and embedded PE leads to ensure product readiness, manufacturability, qualification, yield, and production robustness.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Requires 10+ years of experience in semiconductor product, manufacturing, test, quality, or related engineering functions, including 5+ years managing engineers or technical teams.
Responsibilities
Accountable for technical leadership and operational governance of module-level product engineering across the product lifecycle.
- Lead Module PE from NPI to high-volume production and sustaining activities.
- Manage staffing, workforce planning, onboarding, skill development, succession, and performance for the module PE team.
- Define and maintain PE standards for product readiness, manufacturability, qualification execution, and sustaining ownership.
- Establish governance for decisions affecting quality, cost, yield, capacity, and production release readiness.
- Drive cross-functional alignment with Design, Test, Quality, Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, Applications, and Product Management.
- Ensure manufacturability across OSAT and internal sites, including assembly workmanship and defect prevention.
- Lead executive escalation and decision-making for major yield excursions, qualification issues, production holds, and customer returns.
- Translate product delivery needs into staffing, tooling, data, and process requirements for platform and functional organizations.
- Use data-driven methods to improve cost, yield, cycle time, traceability, and production robustness.
Requirements
Must-have technical and leadership skills required to operate at a senior level and deliver production-ready power module products.
- 10+ years in semiconductor product, manufacturing, test, quality, or related engineering roles.
- 5+ years managing engineers or technical teams, including subordinate technical leaders.
- Deep technical experience with semiconductor power products, advanced power modules, module assembly, qualification, and high-volume manufacturing.
- Proven ability to define operating objectives, policies, procedures, metrics, and governance for a technical organization.
- Strong data analysis and statistical decision-making skills related to yield, manufacturing capability, and product risk.
- Experience driving cross-functional execution with Design, Test, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Applications, and Product Management.
- Ability to influence senior management and communicate clearly to executives and customers.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree required in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. A Master’s degree in a relevant engineering or business discipline is preferred.
