Senior Manager, ASIC Chip Engineering

Role Summary

Lead execution of SoC projects from concept through first silicon and production, coordinating IP design, integration, verification, physical design, software, and operations across a global, matrixed engineering organization.

Provide technical leadership, identify and mitigate technical risks, and drive project metrics and continuous improvement of development workflows.

Senior β€” minimum 10 years of chip development experience, including at least 5 years managing an SoC or a key subsystem.

Responsibilities

Accountabilities for the role include:

  • Drive end-to-end execution of SOC projects from concept to production and first silicon.
  • Define and track project milestones, dependencies, risks, and KPIs across multi-functional teams.
  • Coordinate activities of IP design, integration, DFT, physical design, VLSI, emulation, software, and operations teams to ensure productization.
  • Identify and characterize technical risks; develop and execute mitigation plans with engineering and management.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams in a highly matrixed environment.
  • Implement data analytics and automation to improve execution efficiency and reporting.
  • Conduct after-action reviews and deploy process improvements to accelerate delivery and quality.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications and skills:

  • Minimum 10 years of proven experience in chip development, including at least 5 years managing an SoC or a key subsystem.
  • Hands-on experience with development cycles for graphics processing, memory, and I/O subsystems in SoC designs.
  • Deep knowledge of chip lifecycle phases: micro-architecture, low-power design, RTL, verification, emulation, physical design, clock/reset distribution, DFT, silicon bring-up, reliability, and qualification.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and resolve complex technical issues across distributed teams.
  • Strong written and verbal technical communication skills; able to present complex program status and risks to stakeholders using KPIs.
  • Experience using programming and data analytics tools to automate workflows and improve execution efficiency.

Nice-to-have:

  • Algorithm development and advanced programming skills.
  • Familiarity with client and automotive markets.
  • Experience with functional safety standards such as ISO 26262 and delivering safety-focused hardware/software.

Education Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) is listed; Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) or MS in Computer Engineering (MSCE) preferred. Equivalent practical experience is accepted.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range: 232,000 USD - 368,000 USD (actual pay determined by location and experience). Eligible for equity and benefits (NVIDIA benefits).
