RTL Design Jobs, Level - Senior

Job Title

Senior Logic Design Engineer

Role Summary

Join Intel's HIPD team to design RTL for UCIE PHY IP used in datacenter/server products. The role focuses on RTL development, microarchitecture participation, and delivering logic that meets power, performance, area, and timing targets for physical implementation.

Experience Level

Senior β€” the posting specifies experience levels consistent with a senior engineer (title contains "Sr.").

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include design, verification collaboration, and optimization of logic for IP blocks.

  • Develop RTL (SystemVerilog) and perform block-level simulation and verification.
  • Contribute to architecture and microarchitecture definitions for assigned IP blocks.
  • Perform quality checks across RTL to timing/power convergence and maintain design integrity for physical implementation.
  • Apply RTL optimization strategies to meet power, performance, area, and timing goals.
  • Review verification plans, triage failing RTL tests, and implement corrective fixes.
  • Coordinate cross-team and cross-geo work; present designs and results to stakeholders.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience required to perform the role; preferred items are listed separately.

  • Must-have: Strong RTL/logic design experience using SystemVerilog.
  • Hands-on experience with data path design, power-management flow, arbitration logic, state machines, and clock-domain crossing.
  • Experience with UPF and front-end design tools (lint, synthesis).
  • Experience with hardware simulation tools and methodologies (e.g., VCS, Verdi).
  • Familiarity with IP configuration environments and version/configuration management.
  • Effective communication, teamwork, and the ability to ramp quickly on complex IPs.
  • Preferred: Experience with UCIE PHY design and mixed-signal environments; advanced cross-domain/voltage-domain crossing experience.

Education Requirements

Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field plus 4+ years' experience; OR Master's degree in EE/CE or related field plus 2+ years' experience; OR PhD in EE/CE or related field plus 1+ year experience. Qualifications may also be met through a combination of relevant industry experience, internships, coursework, or research.
