Senior Lead Verification Engineer
QualcommJob Title
Senior Lead Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Lead development and execution of SoC design verification for mobile and compute SoCs. Work on verification environment and testbench architecture at IP, subsystem, and SoC levels, debug complex issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet system-level quality and performance goals.
Experience Level
Senior - typically 5 to 8 years of hands-on SoC design verification experience (job lists 5–8 years as the primary requirement).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on architecture, development, and execution of verification solutions for SoCs and subsystems.
- Design and implement verification environments and testbenches for IP, subsystem, and SoC-level verification.
- Develop assertions, functional coverage, and directed/random test programs; implement UVM-based verification components.
- Plan and execute test plans, regression suites, and system-level verification flows including power-aware scenarios.
- Debug failures, perform root-cause analysis, and drive issue resolution across RTL, FPGA, firmware, and software boundaries.
- Integrate and validate interfaces and peripherals (PCIe, USB, LPDDR, eMMC/SD/UFS, QUP, etc.) within system-level tests.
- Automate verification tasks and flows using scripting and build/test infrastructure.
- Collaborate with design, architecture, and software teams; communicate verification status and risks to stakeholders.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for this role.
- 5–8 years of hands-on SoC design verification experience focused on SoC-level testbench architecture and test development.
- Proficiency in Verilog, SystemVerilog, UVM, and SVA; experience with PSS is expected.
- Experience with industry-standard protocols and interfaces (PCIe Gen5/6, USB 3.x/4, LPDDR4/5, QUP, eMMC/SD, UFS, AXI/AHB/CHI).
- Knowledge of processor and interconnect architectures (ARM, RISC-V, NoC) and SoC boot flows.
- Strong skills in power-aware verification methodologies and related simulation flows.
- Scripting experience for automation (Python, Perl, TCL, Bash) and familiarity with waveform/debug tools (e.g., Verdi).
- Strong debugging, root-cause analysis, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Nice-to-have: gate-level simulation exposure, DDR/multimedia subsystem verification, advanced CPU validation and power-aware simulation techniques.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related technical field. The posting specifies Bachelor's + 3+ years, Master's + 2+ years, or PhD + 1+ year of hardware engineering or related experience.
