Senior Lead RTL/Power Engineer
QualcommJob Title
Senior Lead RTL/Power Engineer
Role Summary
Lead SoC power engineering tasks within the hardware engineering team, owning UPF/CPF development and SoC-level power architecture decisions. Collaborate with IP owners and cross-functional teams to define and deliver low-power RTL, power intent, and verification for production SoCs.
Experience Level
Senior level. The role targets candidates with approximately 3–8 years of relevant RTL/power design or SoC power engineering experience.
Responsibilities
Primary technical and leadership responsibilities include:
- Lead SoC power tasks and define multi-power-rail architecture.
- Develop and integrate UPF/CPF power intent across IPs and the SoC.
- Perform power analysis and recovery on clock trees and netlists across power-delivery stages.
- Perform static and dynamic power analysis (PTPX) and drive optimizations.
- Define isolation strategies and low-power techniques for power domains.
- Work with design, verification, and physical teams to ensure power objectives are met.
Requirements
Essential skills and experience for immediate contribution:
- 3–8 years of experience in low-power RTL/SoC power design and delivery.
- Hands-on experience with UPF development and design reviews.
- SoC-level power analysis and recovery experience, including clocktree/netlist analysis.
- Experience with static/dynamic power tools and methodologies (PTPX or equivalent).
- Knowledge of multi-rail power architectures, isolation strategies, and low-power design techniques.
- Ability to lead technical tasks and coordinate with IP owners and cross-functional teams.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related field with 3+ years of hardware engineering experience; OR Master’s in those fields with 2+ years; OR PhD in those fields with 1+ year.
