Job Title

Senior Lead Engineer - SoC Design Verification

Role Summary

Individual-contributor role responsible for RTL functional verification of in-vehicle networking devices in NXP's next-generation automotive product line. The engineer will design and maintain advanced verification environments, define verification strategy and test plans, and drive metric-based closure across IP, subsystem and SoC levels.

The role works closely with Architecture, Design, Validation and Firmware teams to ensure delivery of reliable, safety-oriented automotive products.

Experience Level

Senior level. The posting specifies 8+ years of proven ASIC/SoC verification experience.

Responsibilities

Lead and execute verification activities from strategy through closure.

  • Architect verification environments and write verification test plans and metric-closure documentation.
  • Develop SystemVerilog/UVM testbenches for functional and power-aware RTL verification.
  • Implement UVM components (agents, scoreboards, environments), assertions and functional coverage.
  • Define verification strategies using directed, constrained-random and formal techniques across IP, subsystem and SoC levels.
  • Create UVM test sequences, layered sequences and virtual sequencers.
  • Drive verification metric closure; identify and close gaps in functional, power-aware and gate-level timing verification.
  • Develop C testcases for HW–FW simulation and FPGA prototyping; set up regressions and debug RTL and gate-level netlists.
  • Collaborate with architecture, digital/analog design, DV and validation teams to meet schedules and quality targets.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and proven experience.

  • 8+ years of ASIC/SoC verification experience, including taking designs from specification to tape-out.
  • Proven expertise with UVM and SystemVerilog-based verification.
  • Experience in test planning, testbench creation, and achieving code and functional coverage targets.
  • Skilled in directed and constrained-random stimulus generation and test methodologies.
  • Low-power verification experience (UPF/CPF flows) and SVA assertion development.
  • Proficiency with C/C++, Perl and Python for testcases and scripting.
  • Familiarity with development and tracking tools such as GIT, Jira and Confluence.

Education Requirements

B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field (the posting lists B.S./M.S. Electrical/Computer Engineering or similar degrees).
