Job Title
Senior Lead Engineer - IP Design
Role Summary
Lead IP and subsystem architecture, design and delivery within a global R&D team. Drive product roadmaps, translate high-level specifications into implemented IPs, and collaborate with Systems and SoC design functions to meet system-level performance and schedule targets.
Experience Level
Senior β typically 8β12 years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include owning IP domain roadmaps, designing complex IPs and subsystems, and ensuring quality and delivery across sites.
- Own and drive roadmaps for IP/subsystem portfolios across global R&D.
- Benchmark competitors and define differentiating, innovative features.
- Architect and design complex IPs/subsystems for edge processing and automotive domains (including safety-critical and gateway systems).
- Lead IP development from concept through design, verification and system integration to meet performance and schedule targets.
- Ensure quality across the IP development lifecycle; recommend and implement process improvements to reduce defects.
- Drive and harmonize IP design methodologies across global sites and stakeholders.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; followed by notable additions that are advantageous.
- Proven experience architecting and delivering complex IPs / subsystems (8β12 years typical).
- Experience with high-speed serial protocols and PHY/controller challenges (PCIe, Ethernet, SerDes).
- Knowledge of external memory interfaces (DDR4, LPDDR4) and QuadSPI Flash interfaces.
- Familiarity with microcontroller architecture and bus protocols such as AHB/AMBA and AXI.
- Hands-on experience with HDLs (Verilog/VHDL) and scripting languages (Perl, Tcl); C/C++ for hardware modeling.
- Understanding of end-to-end IP development flow including CDC/RDC issues, synthesis, and DFT/ATPG coverage.
- Experience in testbench and testplan development in partnership with verification teams.
- Strong communication, ownership, leadership and cross-site collaboration skills.
