Responsibilities
Primary duties include technical design, verification, and manufacturing support for hardware systems and DFT features.
- Plan, optimize, verify, and test electronic systems including digital/analog/RF/optical, FPGA, DSP, and test systems.
- Integrate features and functionality into hardware designs aligned with roadmaps and proposals.
- Perform simulations and analyses to meet power, performance, and area targets.
- Collaborate with design, verification, validation, software, systems engineering, and architecture teams to implement requirements and test solutions.
- Develop and evaluate manufacturing and bring-up solutions to improve yield, test time, and product quality.
- Characterize reliability of materials and processes; drive automation and optimization to increase productivity.
- Identify design compatibility or compliance issues and propose mitigations.
- Produce detailed technical documentation and provide guidance to other team members.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.
- Practical hardware engineering experience with ASIC/SoC or complex electronic systems.
- Experience with circuit design (digital and/or analog) and schematic capture/circuit simulation tools.
- Hands-on use of hardware measurement instruments (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF tools, etc.).
- Experience evaluating manufacturing, bring-up, and test solutions to improve yield and quality.
- Ability to perform complex simulations and trade-off analyses (power, performance, area).
- Strong technical writing and communication skills; experience documenting hardware projects.
- Proven ability to collaborate across disciplines and influence implementation of test and validation solutions.
- Experience providing technical guidance or informal supervision; some leadership experience preferred.
Education Requirements
Degree requirement: Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Minimum experience expectations tied to degree: Bachelor's +3 years, Master's +2 years, PhD +1 year. Preferred: Master's degree and ~5+ years of hardware engineering experience.
