Job Title
Senior Lead Design Engineer
Role Summary
The Senior Lead Design Engineer will architect and develop complex IPs and subsystems for automotive SoCs, working from high-level specifications through implementation. The role partners with global systems, SoC design, and verification teams to deliver integrated solutions for ADAS (vision and radar), in-vehicle networks, gateways and ASIL-D fail-safe subsystems.
Experience Level
Senior-level engineer. The posting indicates 7β13 years of relevant industry experience.
Responsibilities
Accountable for end-to-end IP and subsystem design and delivery; drive quality and cross-team collaboration.
- Architect and design complex IPs/subsystems across protocols used in automotive ADAS, vision, radar, in-vehicle networks, gateways and fail-safe (ASIL-D) systems.
- Own IP/subsystem development from concept through RTL implementation and integration to meet performance targets and schedules.
- Ensure quality at all stages of development, analyse processes and implement improvements to reduce defects.
- Collaborate with global SoC, verification and system teams; contribute to testplan and pre-silicon validation activities.
Requirements
Key technical and behavioral requirements. Items marked "Nice to have" are desirable but not mandatory.
-
Must have: 7β13 years of hands-on experience designing complex IPs/subsystems; strong RTL skills (Verilog/VHDL); experience with custom processor/DSP designs for vision and radar processing.
-
Must have: Practical experience with high-speed serial protocols and related controller/PHY challenges (PCIe, USB, MIPI CSI/DSI); familiarity with external memory interfaces (DDR4, LPDDR4, QuadSPI).
-
Must have: Understanding of microcontroller architecture, caches and bus protocols (AHB/AMBA AXI); experience with IP development flow including CDC/RDC, synthesis, and DFT/ATPG coverage.
-
Must have: Scripting and modeling skills (Perl, Tcl, C/C++); ability to work on testbench/testplan development alongside verification teams.
-
Nice to have: Experience with automotive protocols (LIN, CAN, FlexRay); hands-on pre-silicon validation using FPGA or emulation; PHY-level high-speed design experience.
-
Soft skills: Strong written and verbal communication, ownership, emotional intelligence and ability to lead and work with distributed/global teams.
