Role Summary
Design and deliver high-speed analog/mixed-signal data converters (ADC/DAC) using advanced FinFET processes. The role spans architecture, transistor-level design, layout oversight, and post-silicon bring-up across teams in engineering and test.
Position can be based in San Jose, CA or San Diego, CA, with a remote option within the United States. Compensation stated: $150,000–$180,000 per year.

Responsibilities
Accountable for architecture, design, verification, and validation of high-speed data converters through silicon bring-up.
- Architect multi-GS/s ADC/DAC systems (Time-Interleaved SAR, Pipeline, Flash, RF-DACs).
- Design transistor-level circuits: track-and-hold, comparators, low-jitter clock paths, and bias networks in 7nm–3nm FinFET processes.
- Implement digital calibration for offset, gain, timing skew, and linearity.
- Supervise layout to mitigate layout-dependent effects, parasitics, electromigration, and self-heating.
- Lead post-silicon lab bring-up, bench testing, and model-to-hardware correlation.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- 10+ years hands-on experience in high-speed data converter design with successful silicon tape-outs.
- Proven experience on advanced FinFET nodes (3nm, 5nm, 7nm).
- Expertise with EDA tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre/PrimeSim, and Calibre PEX/Quantus.
- Strong understanding of FinFET-specific constraints (fin quantization, degraded gm/gds, 3D RC extraction).
- Experience implementing digital calibration techniques and mixed-signal integration.
- Ability to supervise layout and coordinate with layout and test engineers.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience leading projects or engineering teams.
- RF-DAC or RF data-converter design experience.
Education Requirements
M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related field (the posting specifies advanced degrees).
