Senior Layout Designer
Micron TechnologyJob Title
Senior Layout Designer
Role Summary
Senior Layout Designer responsible for producing high-quality analog and mixed-signal IC layouts, owning floor-planning, placement and routing for mid-size and periphery blocks. Works with design, CAD and verification teams to meet schedule and quality targets.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Posting requests 4+ years of layout experience.
Responsibilities
The role focuses on execution and ownership of layout tasks and coordination across teams.
- Produce and deliver high-quality layouts for mid-size blocks in core/pitch and periphery areas.
- Perform floor-planning, placement, routing and signoff preparation for analog, digital and array circuits.
- Debug and resolve LVS, DRC and layout-related issues; execute ECO, LCO and DFM fixes.
- Implement layouts for critical analog blocks (temperature sensor, PLL, ADC, DAC, LDO, bandgap, reference generators, charge pumps, current mirrors, comparators, differential amplifiers, etc.).
- Coordinate with design, TD, CAD and verification teams to meet schedule and quality targets.
- Apply and adapt layout techniques across array, digital and analog domains; leverage automation and AI tools where appropriate.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience required to perform the role.
- 4+ years of hands-on layout experience (analog/mixed-signal focus).
- Proficiency with Cadence VXL for periphery block layout.
- Strong LVS, DRC and layout debug/problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated layout experience for critical analog blocks listed above.
- Solid understanding of analog layout fundamentals: matching, electromigration, latch-up, coupling, crosstalk, IR-drop, parasitics.
- Knowledge of how layout affects circuit performance: speed, capacitance, power and area.
- Experience managing layout flow: floor-planning, placement, routing, and adherence to design rules.
- Experience executing ECO/LCO/DFM changes and coordinating cross-functional delivery.
