Senior IP Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Verify PCIe and CXL high-speed IO subsystems at the sub-system level, working within Arm's Solutions Engineering team alongside architects, RTL design and verification engineers across multiple sites to validate SoC and test-chip designs.
Focus on functional, interoperability and performance verification, developing and improving verification strategies and testbenches for advanced process nodes and 3D packaging initiatives.
Experience Level
Senior β typically 5+ years of experience in design or verification of PCIe/CXL subsystems or SoCs.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Define functional verification strategies and produce test plans for sub-system and IO scenarios.
- Develop SystemVerilog/Verilog/UVM testbenches and tests; integrate emulation-friendly transactors.
- Execute interoperability and performance verification for PCIe and CXL IPs with third-party components.
- Run simulations and emulation, debug failures using debugging tools, and triage issues with design teams.
- Improve verification methodologies, tools and flows used by the team.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and coordinate with project management on schedules and milestones.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Solid understanding of digital hardware design and Verilog HDL.
- Proven experience in PCIe and CXL feature and integration verification at sub-system level.
- Experience with PCIe & CXL IPs and emulation-friendly transactors.
- Familiarity with simulation and emulation platforms and debugging tools.
- Expertise in UVM-based verification and test-plan creation.
- Knowledge of formal verification methodology.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with Arm-based designs or ARM system architectures.
- Clock-domain crossing and power-aware verification experience.
- Scripting skills (Perl, Python or similar).
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a closely related technical field is expected.
