Senior IP Methodology and Quality Engineer

Role Summary

Senior technical leader responsible for driving root-cause investigations and improving engineering and quality practices for silicon IP. Works cross-functionally with design, applications, program management, and other stakeholders to resolve high-impact quality issues and scale repeatable methods.

This role emphasizes rigorous investigation, durable corrective actions, and embedding stronger quality ownership across teams.

Responsibilities

You will lead deep technical investigations and help teams improve quality methods and execution. Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead RCCA and 8D investigations for complex, high-impact silicon IP quality issues and drive corrective actions to closure.
  • Identify systemic quality risks early and coordinate cross-team mitigation actions.
  • Improve and scale quality methods, standards, and engineering practices to enable more predictable execution.
  • Partner with design, applications, program management, and stakeholders to resolve cross-functional quality challenges.
  • Mentor engineers through technical reviews, problem-solving, and lessons learned to raise team capability.
  • Serve as a trusted technical partner, bringing clarity and practical direction on difficult problems.
  • Contribute to stronger design flows, quality systems, and operating practices for current and future scalability.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and behaviors to succeed in the role.

  • Deep expertise in at least one silicon IP interface domain (examples: PHY, SerDes, DDR, HBM, UCIe) and a broad understanding of adjacent domains.
  • Proven experience leading rigorous root-cause investigations (RCCA/8D) that produced durable quality or process improvements.
  • Ability to work independently in ambiguous, technically demanding environments and to bring structure to complex problems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and influencing skills across engineering and stakeholder groups.
  • Experience building or improving repeatable engineering and quality practices; ability to drive changes spanning teams or product lines.
  • Hands-on use of Microsoft Office, Confluence, and Jira for documentation, reporting, and tracking.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with automation, workflow digitization, or quality data analytics; prior mentorship or technical leadership experience.

Education Requirements
