Job Title

Senior Infrastructure and DevOps Engineer

Role Summary

Join the Silicon Architecture (SiA) 3PA team to design, operate, and improve infrastructure that runs large-scale architecture modeling, simulation, and data analysis workflows. The role focuses on Linux-based environments, CI/CD, build and release tooling, automation, and scalable execution of compute-intensive workloads.

Experience Level

Senior level. The posting specifies minimum professional experience in related areas (see Requirements). Preferred candidates may have 7+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include operating and improving infrastructure and developer workflows for modeling and simulation toolchains.

  • Design, deploy, and maintain Linux-based infrastructure for modeling, simulation, and projection workflows.
  • Design and operate CI/CD pipelines for modeling frameworks, analysis tools, and supporting software components.
  • Develop and maintain automation for build systems, toolchains, packaging, and dependency management.
  • Enable scalable and reproducible execution of compute-intensive and distributed workloads.
  • Manage artifact storage, versioning, and distribution for software builds and modeling outputs.
  • Monitor and improve pipeline performance, reliability, and observability.
  • Debug infrastructure issues across build systems, storage, networking, and distributed compute environments.
  • Collaborate with architects, modeling engineers, and software developers to improve developer productivity and system scalability.
  • Own and drive end-to-end improvements to infrastructure components.

Requirements

Minimum technical qualifications and practical skills required to perform the role.

Must-have

  • 3+ years experience in infrastructure engineering, DevOps, software engineering, or build/release engineering.
  • 3+ years working in Linux development environments.
  • 2+ years experience with CI/CD systems (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
  • 2+ years experience with build systems such as GNU Make, CMake, Bazel, or Ninja.
  • Practical experience designing/operating scalable compute environments, artifact/version management, and observability for pipelines.
  • Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills across software stacks, storage, networking, and distributed compute.

Nice-to-have

  • Scripting or automation experience (Python, Bash, or similar).
  • Experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and job schedulers (e.g., Slurm).
  • Experience supporting large-scale compute/HPC systems, distributed filesystems, and performance/resource tuning.
  • Familiarity with EDA tools, architecture modeling environments, or semiconductor development workflows.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree plus 4+ years of experience, or Master's degree plus 3+ years, or a PhD in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or other STEM-related discipline. Experience may be obtained through a combination of degree work, research, relevant job experience, or internships.
