Senior In-Vehicle Networking EMC System Engineer

Role Summary

Join the Systems & Applications team for In-Vehicle Networking to lead EMC evaluation and test activities for automotive networking products. The role interfaces with product R&D and customers to ensure EMC compliance, improves test methods and automation, and supports product definition and transfers. Location: Hamburg, Germany.

Responsibilities

Main responsibilities include hands-on EMC evaluation, test leadership, and cross-team coordination.

  • Plan, perform, analyze, and document EMC measurements for product development and fab transfers.
  • Lead customer-facing EMC investigations and provide technical recommendations.
  • Contribute to product definition regarding evolving automotive EMC requirements.
  • Collaborate with product R&D, marketing, and regional teams worldwide.
  • Lead or contribute to continuous improvement of test methods and test automation.
  • Coordinate activities within the EMC experts team and across sites.
  • May be responsible for security-related tasks; work may be in scope of security certifications.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and professional capabilities.

  • Hands-on EMC testing experience with automotive products and good knowledge of EMC measurement methodologies.
  • Practical electrical measurement techniques and debugging skills.
  • Familiarity with automotive communication protocols and semiconductor applications in the automotive market.
  • Programming skills in Python, C, or C++ to support test automation and analysis.
  • Proven analytical thinking, problem solving, and debugging capabilities.
  • Initial experience dealing with customers and providing technical support.
  • Good communication skills in English; German is beneficial.
  • Self-motivated, curious, and able to work in dynamic, international, cross-site and cross-functional teams.

Education Requirements

Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. The posting specifies 5+ years of experience in a related field. Good English communication skills are required; German is beneficial.
