Job Title

Senior Implementation Engineer

Role Summary

The Senior Implementation Engineer delivers tape-out quality physical implementations for Arm-based solutions, working across the full physical implementation flow to optimise power, performance and area. The role sits in the Systems IP / Hardware Engineering team and collaborates with design teams and external chip partners to ensure successful silicon delivery.

Experience Level

Senior. The posting does not state specific years of experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities focus on full-flow physical implementation, optimisation, and partner enablement.

  • Perform physical implementation from RTL to GDSII: synthesis, floorplanning, place & route, STA, power analysis and physical verification.
  • Optimize designs for performance, power and area as project needs dictate.
  • Collaborate with architecture and design teams to influence microarchitecture and constraints for timing closure.
  • Author and validate UPF for low-power intent and flows.
  • Support and enable chip design partners to achieve successful physical implementations and tape-out readiness.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; followed by concise nice-to-have items.

  • Experience with large SoC systems integration and power/physical architecture.
  • Knowledge of design-for-test practices.
  • Good understanding of synthesis, place & route, clock tree synthesis, constraint development and timing closure.
  • Proficient in Verilog/SystemVerilog.
  • Experience with industry tools such as Genus, Innovus, Conformal (low power), PrimeTime/Tempus or equivalent physical implementation and analysis tools.
  • Practical experience writing and validating UPF (Unified Power Format).
  • Programming and scripting experience (Tcl, Make, Linux shell); algorithmic thinking and problem analysis skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork; able to present results and recommendations clearly.

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with Arm IP and Arm-based SoC architectures.
  • Interest or experience in AI hardware technology.
  • Experience with data-processing or presentation programming languages and tools.
  • Experience with low-power techniques (clock/power gating, voltage/frequency scaling, retention) and IR-drop analysis.

Education Requirements

The posting lists a STEM degree in a relevant field (for example electronics engineering or computer science) as a nice-to-have. No explicit minimum degree level or strict requirement for equivalent experience is stated.
