Senior High Speed SerDes Validation Engineer
Role Summary
Member of the DGX Server Product Engineering Team responsible for system-level validation of GPU-accelerated computing platforms. Develop and implement automated test plans, coordinate cross-team validation activities, and resolve complex hardware and software issues to deliver production-ready systems.
Experience Level
Senior - typically 6+ years of experience validating and debugging complex systems.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include end-to-end validation, test automation, and cross-organization coordination:
- Own product validation lifecycle: test-plan development, automation, design-for-validation, resource planning, coverage metrics, test execution, bug resolution, and release to production.
- Develop system-level stress and performance testing strategies using real-world Deep Learning/AI workloads.
- Coordinate validation efforts with ODMs, component suppliers, and QA teams across time zones.
- Diagnose and debug complex system-level hardware and software issues on GPU-accelerated platforms.
- Develop and run factory diagnostics and performance characterization tests.
Requirements
Must-have:
- Ability to work on site in a hardware lab environment five days a week.
- 6+ years of experience validating and debugging complex systems.
- High-speed SerDes validation experience at 50 Gbaud/s and above.
- Strong understanding of DSP-based high-speed SerDes architectures.
- Programming and scripting experience in C/C++, JavaScript, and Python.
- Experience developing/running real-world workloads and factory diagnostic tools.
- Familiarity with lab instrumentation such as oscilloscopes and digital multimeters.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication and collaboration skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with datacenter products including system management, security, networking, and storage.
- Familiarity with Ethernet and InfiniBand switch architectures.
- Hands-on SerDes performance tuning and circuit/waveform analysis experience.
- Track record of process improvement with a focus on tools and automation.
Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Computer Engineering (BSCE), or equivalent practical experience.
