Senior High Speed SerDes Validation Engineer
Role Summary
Join the DGX Server Product Engineering Team to develop and execute system-level validation for GPU-accelerated computing products. You will design and automate test plans, run stress and performance workloads, debug complex HW/SW interactions, and coordinate across internal and external teams to deliver production-ready systems.
Experience Level
Senior level. The role expects 5+ years of experience validating and debugging complex systems.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include ownership of system validation from planning through release and coordination with partners and suppliers.
- Define and execute validation test plans, automation, coverage metrics, and release criteria.
- Develop system-level stress and performance tests using real-world Deep Learning/AI workloads.
- Debug and resolve complex hardware and software issues on GPU-accelerated platforms.
- Coordinate with ODMs, component suppliers, and QA teams to ensure complete coverage.
- Plan lab resources and manage test execution and defect resolution.
- Work across time zones with internal and external teams to meet delivery schedules.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and work conditions.
- Ability to work onsite in a hardware lab environment five days per week.
- 5+ years validating and debugging complex hardware/software systems.
- High-speed SerDes validation experience at 50 Gbaud and above.
- Strong understanding of DSP-based high-speed SerDes architectures.
- Experience developing and running real-world workloads and factory diagnostic tools.
- Proficient coding and scripting skills (C/C++, JavaScript, Python).
- Familiarity with lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, digital multimeters).
- Strong verbal and written communication; experience collaborating with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with datacenter systems (system management, security, networking, storage).
- Familiarity with Ethernet and InfiniBand switch architectures.
- Hands-on experience with SerDes performance tuning and waveform/circuit analysis.
- Track record of process improvement, automation, and tool development.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (BSEE or BSCE) or equivalent practical experience.
