Job Title

Senior High Speed SerDes Validation Engineer

Role Summary

Senior validation engineer on the DGX Server Product Engineering team responsible for planning and executing system-level validation for GPU-accelerated server platforms.

Work with hardware and software engineers, suppliers, and manufacturing partners to define test plans, implement automation, and drive issues to resolution so products can be released to production.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Minimum 5+ years validating and debugging complex hardware/software systems; experience with high-speed IO and system-level validation required.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include full lifecycle validation of server products and coordination across internal and external teams.

  • Develop and own test plans, validation strategy, coverage metrics, and resource planning for product releases.
  • Design and implement automated test infrastructure and factory diagnostics.
  • Execute system-level stress and performance tests using real-world Deep Learning/AI workloads.
  • Debug complex interactions between hardware and software on GPU-accelerated platforms and resolve root causes.
  • Coordinate with ODMs, component suppliers, and QA across time zones to ensure coverage and closure of issues.
  • Manage release-to-production activities and maintain test documentation and metrics.
  • Operate and maintain hardware lab equipment and test stations.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications are listed first; followed by desirable skills.

  • Must-have: 5+ years validating and debugging complex systems; hands-on high-speed SERDES validation at 50 Gbaud/s and above.
  • Must-have: Strong understanding of DSP-based high-speed SERDES architectures and practical circuit/waveform analysis skills.
  • Must-have: Proficient programming and scripting (C/C++, Python; JavaScript experience noted).
  • Must-have: Familiarity with lab instrumentation such as oscilloscopes and digital multimeters; ability to work onsite in a hardware lab 5 days per week.
  • Must-have: Experience developing and running real-world workloads and factory diagnosis tools; ability to collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams under schedule pressure.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with datacenter systems (management, security, networking, storage) and Ethernet/InfiniBand switch architectures.
  • Nice-to-have: Hands-on SERDES performance tuning, process improvement experience, and strong automation tooling background.

Education Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering (BSCE) or equivalent practical experience.
