Senior Hardware Product Quality Manager, PQM
Role Summary
Individual contributor responsible for supporting datacenter hardware quality initiatives and driving resolution of customer complaints. Works closely with customer-facing teams and cross-functional engineering groups to investigate issues, manage incidents, and ensure product quality and reliability.
Position is based in Santa Clara, California and focuses on customer-facing quality management for NVIDIA hardware products.
Experience Level
Senior β typically requires 8+ years of experience in electronics customer quality or related roles.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include managing customer issues, data-driven analysis, and cross-team coordination.
- Participate in regular quality conference calls and face-to-face customer meetings.
- Track and report key quality metrics to engineering and management.
- Analyze quality and reliability data using statistical methods to identify trends and assess risk.
- Lead response to crisis or customer-critical issues: assimilate technical details, direct engineering activities, and formulate customer responses.
- Prepare customer-facing presentations on root cause, risk assessments, corrective and preventative actions, and recovery plans.
- Write and review 8D reports for customer consumption.
- Serve as issue manager for critical incidents, coordinating multiple engineering teams to drive timely resolution and maintain operational continuity.
- Drive internal problem resolution and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to accelerate PQM workflows with AI and guide integration of AI-enabled tools into quality processes.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience; followed by preferred qualifications.
- 8+ years of experience in an electronics customer quality role.
- Proven customer interface experience and ability to rapidly comprehend technical details related to customer complaints.
- Proficiency with 8D problem-solving methodology and structured problem solving.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, logical problem-solving ability, time management, and task prioritization.
- Strong organizational and program management skills; experience coordinating across multiple engineering and business teams.
- Proficient with MS Office and data analysis tools.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with semiconductor manufacturing processes (Si fab, package assembly, final test).
- Knowledge of SMT and PCBA manufacturing practices and controls.
- Familiarity with electronics reliability standards at component, board, or system level.
- Experience with server system hardware design, development, failure analysis, or testing.
- Demonstrated close working relationships with customer quality teams.
Education Requirements
BS or MS in electrical engineering, quality, or a related technical field β or equivalent practical experience.
