Role Summary
Lead the architecture, development, and verification of FPGA solutions for 4G/5G radio products and wireless infrastructure. Deliver FPGA IP, signal-processing blocks, and high-speed interfaces for Radio Units and O-RAN systems while providing technical leadership through the full development lifecycle.
Experience Level
Senior β 7+ years of experience developing FPGA solutions for wireless communications or high-performance digital systems.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Define and develop FPGA architectures and reusable IP blocks for 4G/5G Radio Units and wireless infrastructure products.
- Design, implement, and integrate complex RTL components using Verilog, SystemVerilog, and/or VHDL.
- Contribute to system-level architecture decisions ensuring compliance with 3GPP, O-RAN Alliance, and product requirements.
- Develop and execute verification strategies, including UVM-based environments, simulation, and hardware validation.
- Optimize implementations for timing closure, resource utilization, throughput, latency, and system performance.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, systems, and radio teams to ensure integration and interoperability.
- Provide technical leadership through design reviews, mentoring, and engineering best practices.
- Support technical investigations, customer discussions, and long-term product planning.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred skills:

Must-have: 7+ years developing FPGA solutions for wireless communications, telecommunications, or other high-performance digital systems.

Must-have: Strong FPGA architecture, RTL design, IP development, and verification methodologies (UVM, simulation, hardware validation).

Must-have: Experience with wireless protocols and standards such as LTE, 5G NR, eCPRI, CPRI, and PTP.

Must-have: Familiarity with high-speed interfaces and protocols such as JESD204B/C, Ethernet, PCIe, AXI, and SERDES technologies.

Must-have: Proficiency with Vivado, Quartus, MATLAB/Simulink, HDL Coder, and modern version control workflows.

Must-have: Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and lead technical design reviews.

Nice-to-have: Experience with O-RAN-based Radio Units, strong DSP and radio-architecture background, reusable IP for high-volume telecom, participation in standards activities, publications or patents.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
