Senior Hardware Architect
Role Summary
Chip micro-architect for NVIDIA Networking (BlueField DPU SoC and/or ConnectX NIC) focused on delivering high-speed networking, security, and system performance for AI data centers. The role translates system-level requirements into implementable micro-architecture and ensures implementation meets product goals.
Experience Level
Senior - typically 8+ years of relevant experience in architecture or micro-architecture.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include designing micro-architecture, guiding implementation, and validating system performance.
- Collaborate with product architects and design teams to define micro-architecture that meets product goals.
- Break high-level architecture requirements into lower-level design building blocks and review implementations.
- Act as focal point for the design team, providing guidance and reviewing RTL implementations.
- Analyze performance and run simulations to find bottlenecks early in the development cycle.
- Identify and debug full-chip issues pre- and post-silicon using system-level understanding.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience; nice-to-have items listed separately.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in architecture/micro-architecture.
- Deep understanding of RTL design, including timing, area, power, and complexity trade-offs.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to document and present requirements to peers and design teams.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; effective team player.
Nice-to-have:
- Professional RTL design implementation and implementation-definition experience.
- Experience defining network cards, SmartNIC SoCs, high-speed interconnects, or switches.
Education Requirements
B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience. Related technical degrees or equivalent experience in electrical/computer engineering or computer architecture are acceptable.
