Job Title
Senior Hardware Architect, Artificial Intelligence
Role Summary
Lead the AI-for-Architecture effort within NVIDIA's Networking Architecture group to define and deploy agentic, AI-driven architecture flows across NIC and switch platforms. The role partners with architects and AI engineering to turn architecture workflows into production agents, evaluation harnesses, and accepted org-wide practices.
Experience Level
Senior β typically requires 6+ years of relevant experience in hardware, firmware, or system architecture.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include defining the technical roadmap, partnering with architects and AI engineers, and driving adoption of AI-assisted architecture workflows.
- Define roadmap for AI-driven architecture flows: data collection, modeling, agent design, review and validation agents.
- Collaborate with architects to design agentic workflows that accelerate architecture decisions and tradeoff analysis.
- Partner with AI engineering pods to translate workflows into production agents, MCP integrations, and evaluation harnesses.
- Serve as domain authority on architecture output quality and verify AI-assisted results meet standards.
- Drive adoption: run beta cycles, collect feedback, and scale tooling and methods across the organization.
- Present technical direction and progress to senior architecture and product leadership.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, experience, and behaviors.
- 6+ years in hardware, firmware, or system architecture for NICs, switches, DPUs, CPUs, or SoCs, including work on microarchitecture specs, performance models, or architecture decision documents.
- Practical ability to adopt and apply agentic AI workflows and tools (e.g., Claude, Codex, Cursor) to engineering tasks.
- Strong judgment for engineering quality and ability to define validation/fix strategies for AI outputs.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills: explain AI flows to architects and distill architecture tradeoffs for non-architect engineers.
- Proven track record driving adoption of tools or processes across technical organizations.
- Nice-to-have: hands-on experience applying LLMs, agents, or prompt-plus-code pipelines; expertise in high-speed networking silicon (InfiniBand, Ethernet, switch fabric, NIC/RDMA); familiarity with LLM architectures and training/inference parallelism; experience measuring engineering productivity or shipping developer-platform tools at scale.
Education Requirements
B.A., M.Sc., or Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related technical field β or equivalent practical experience.
