Job Title
Senior Hardware Architect, Artificial Intelligence
Role Summary
Lead the definition and rollout of AI-driven architecture flows for networking silicon (NICs, switches, DPUs) within the Networking Architecture group. Partner with AI engineering to turn architecture workflows into production agents, tools, and validation harnesses.
This is an organizational leadership role: you will set technical standards for AI-assisted architecture work, solve hard architecture problems, and drive adoption across architecture teams.
Experience Level
Senior β expects 6+ years of experience in hardware, firmware, or system architecture.
Responsibilities
Own and operationalize AI-assisted architecture workflows; collaborate with architects and AI engineers to deliver production-ready tools and validate outputs.
- Define roadmap for AI-driven architecture flows: data collection, modeling, agent-based exploration, review and validation.
- Work directly with architects to design agentic flows that accelerate feature exploration and decision-making.
- Collaborate with AI engineering to translate workflows into production agents, integrations, and evaluation harnesses.
- Serve as domain authority: set quality standards for architecture outputs and verify AI-assisted results meet those standards.
- Run beta cycles, gather feedback, and drive broad adoption of tools and methods across the organization.
- Represent technical direction to senior architecture and product leadership.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, experience, and behaviors for successful performance in this role.
- 6+ years in hardware, firmware, or system architecture for NICs, switches, DPUs, CPUs, or SoCs, with experience defining microarchitecture specs, performance models, or architecture decision documents.
- Practical ability to understand and adopt agentic AI workflows and tools (examples cited: Claude, Codex, Cursor).
- Strong judgement for engineering quality: evaluate AI output for architecture tasks and propose validation/fix strategies.
- Proven interpersonal and communication skills: explain AI flows to architects and distill architecture trade-offs for non-architect engineers.
- Track record of driving adoption of new tools or processes across a technical organization.
Nice-to-have:
- Hands-on experience applying LLMs, agents, or prompt-plus-code pipelines to engineering workflows.
- Expertise with high-speed networking silicon (InfiniBand, Ethernet, switch fabric, NIC/RDMA subsystems).
- Familiarity with LLM internals (transformers, attention, MLP, MoE) and training/inference parallelism.
- Experience defining engineering productivity metrics or shipping internal platform/developer tools at scale.
Education Requirements
B.A., M.Sc., or Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field β or equivalent practical experience.
