Senior Graphics Instrumentation Engineer

Role Summary

Develop and maintain instrumentation frameworks and tools for Arm's Mali GPU products. Work inside an Agile driver development team, collaborating with hardware, software and architecture teams to enable performance monitoring and optimisation across the GPU stack.

Responsibilities

The role covers the full software development lifecycle for instrumentation components and close collaboration with other engineering teams.

  • Design, implement, test and maintain instrumentation frameworks and associated tools.
  • Debug and profile GPU and driver behaviour to expose performance data and bottlenecks.
  • Participate in design and code reviews; estimate and break down tasks.
  • Collaborate with hardware and software teams to define interfaces and integrate components.
  • Document designs, APIs and usage for diverse internal users.
  • Mentor peers and contribute to team engineering practices and quality.

Must-have

  • Proven experience programming in C/C++.
  • Strong problem-solving, debugging and analytical skills.
  • Experience with version control and issue tracking systems.
  • Good team-working, communication, organisation and self-motivation.

Nice-to-have

  • Familiarity with embedded systems and computer architecture.
  • Experience with Python and object-oriented scripting.
  • Knowledge of graphics APIs such as OpenGL ES and Vulkan and GPU graphics pipeline internals.
  • Experience in profiling, optimisation techniques, and Linux/Android environments.
  • Prior experience leading or managing engineering teams.
