Senior GPU Modeling & Compiler Engineer
Role Summary
Develop and prototype GPU architectural features and make targeted compiler changes to validate designs. Work within Arm's Graphics Hardware Architecture team on modeling, simulation, and interaction with product groups to influence future Mali GPU IP.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Model new GPU architectural features in a large C++ simulator codebase.
- Prototype architectural improvements and run timing-accurate simulations to evaluate trade-offs.
- Implement and validate small compiler changes; create and run tests to confirm behavior.
- Conduct technology research, experimental investigations and hands-on prototyping.
- Collaborate with GPU architects, product groups, and engineering teams to refine proposals and deliver IP-quality results.
- Document findings, present results, and support design decisions with measured data.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Strong understanding of GPU architecture and GPU/CPU trade-offs.
- Proven programming ability in C or C++ and experience working with large codebases and debugging complex issues.
- Working knowledge of compiler technology and internals sufficient to make and validate small compiler changes (tests and validation).
- Experience developing or using hardware/software models and simulators.
- Effective communication and the ability to present technical ideas clearly.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with timing-accurate simulator development and architectural simulation methodologies.
- Knowledge of compiler internals such as register allocation techniques.
- Familiarity with the Vulkan graphics pipeline.
- Personal projects, internships, or practical experience demonstrating initiative and practical problem solving.
Education Requirements
Preferred: PhD (or on-track to complete by Sept 2026) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering; Masters considered with relevant industry experience. Equivalent practical experience is acceptable. Strong academic background in high-performance computer architecture is expected.
