Job Title
Senior Functional Verification Engineer (Graphics/Multimedia)
Role Summary
Join AMD's Client/Graphics Group as a front-end design/integration verification engineer focused on graphics and multimedia SoCs. You will work with architecture, IP, physical design, and product teams to plan and execute pre-silicon verification and help achieve first-pass silicon success.
Experience Level
Senior β typically 12+ years of ASIC design verification experience as indicated by the posting.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include planning and executing functional verification across IP, full-chip, multi-chip and system levels, and mentoring junior engineers.
- Participate in pre-silicon verification for full-chip, blocks, multi-chip and system-level verification.
- Define and review verification plans at SoC and IP levels; write test plans and testcases.
- Develop complex verification environments using coverage- and assertion-based methodologies.
- Implement self-checking, reusable, automated testbenches at block and full-chip levels.
- Create constrained-random generators and reference models; perform coverage analysis.
- Perform failure debug and functional simulation debug to isolate silicon risks.
- Perform hands-on functional verification and carve out verification scope as needed.
- Guide and mentor junior team members; collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive solutions.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for day-one impact, plus a few preferred additions.
-
Must-have: Minimum ~12+ years in ASIC design verification with strong practical experience.
-
Must-have: Deep knowledge of ASIC design flow and SoC architecture.
-
Must-have: Strong Verilog and SystemVerilog experience; experience with PLI interfaces.
-
Must-have: Experience developing testbenches and models in Verilog/SystemVerilog or SystemC.
-
Must-have: Experience with coverage-based verification methodology, constrained-random generation, and assertions.
-
Must-have: Proven debug skills in functional simulations, random test generation, coverage analysis, and failure triage.
-
Must-have: Programming skills in C/C++ and scripting (Perl/shell) for verification infrastructure.
-
Must-have: Strong communication skills and ability to work in a global team environment.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience with low-power verification (NLP/UPF) and emulation.
Education Requirements
