Senior Functional Safety Manager
Role Summary
Lead functional safety execution for next-generation Automotive SoCs targeting Level-4 autonomous driving and advanced robotics. You will ensure compliance with ISO 26262 and IEC 61508 across the product lifecycle and coordinate safety activities across architecture, hardware, software, verification, security, product management, and customers.
Experience Level
Senior β typically 14β20 years of semiconductor or embedded systems development experience, including leadership in functional safety.
Responsibilities
Accountable for driving and delivering safety-compliant SoC products from concept through release.
- Own functional safety execution for complex SoC programs in Automotive and Robotics markets.
- Define and drive safety concepts, architectures, and safety cases per ISO 26262 and IEC 61508.
- Lead and oversee safety analyses such as FMEA, FMEDA, FTA, DFA and requirements allocation.
- Integrate safety across system architecture, IP, hardware, software, and verification activities.
- Support customer safety assessments, engagements, and independent audits as the functional safety authority.
- Develop and improve safety methodologies to address challenges in AI-enabled autonomous systems and robotics.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, experience, and leadership for this role.
- 14β20 years of experience in semiconductor or embedded systems development with significant functional-safety leadership.
- Deep expertise applying ISO 26262 and IEC 61508 to safety-critical SoC development.
- Proven experience in safety architecture, safety analysis, and safety case development for automotive or industrial semiconductors.
- Strong understanding of SoC architecture, hardware/software co-design, IP integration, and verification.
- Experience engaging with automotive OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, or ecosystem partners; able to represent the company in customer and audit settings.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills; ability to influence engineering and executive teams.
- Nice-to-have: prior work on AI-enabled autonomous systems or advanced robotics safety challenges.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
