Senior Functional Safety Engineer
Role Summary
Member of the Arm Solution Engineering Group responsible for driving functional safety work across Arm Automotive projects. Deliver safety analyses, safety management artifacts, and support projects from early development through assessment and certification.
Work closely with hardware and software design teams to define and validate safety architecture and mitigations in a hybrid Bengaluru-based role.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include supporting product safety activities, performing safety analyses, and working with cross-functional teams to implement safety solutions.
- Support Arm Automotive projects from early development through assessment and certification.
- Identify potential failures, analyse risks, and define safety mitigations across the product lifecycle.
- Contribute to safety management artifacts such as Safety Plan and Safety Case; derive and trace safety requirements.
- Perform safety analyses including DFMEA, DFA and FTA to support safety architecture definition.
- Collaborate with design teams to implement and validate safety features and ensure operation within safety limits under fault conditions.
- Manage safety-related activities to meet project timelines and budgets.
- Drive continuous improvement of development processes for robustness across hardware and software solutions.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- Practical knowledge and application of functional safety, quality and cybersecurity standards such as ISO 26262, ISO/SAE 21434, IEC 61508 and ASPICE.
- Proven experience with safety analysis techniques (FMEA, FTA, DFA) and risk assessment.
- Knowledge of system architecture and system design principles, including component interactions in complex systems.
- Understanding of RTL and RTL verification methods and tools; solid grasp of digital electronic design concepts.
- Ability to manage safety activities within project constraints and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams; strong communication skills.
