Senior Full Stack Software Engineer – CAD Infrastructure Team
Role Summary
The CAD Infrastructure team builds and operates engineering platforms used across CPU, DSP, AI, SoC, physical design, verification, and software organizations. This role designs, implements, and operates full-stack web applications, data services, automation, and AI-enabled tooling to improve engineering productivity.
You will collaborate with engineering teams, program managers, DevOps, and infrastructure architects to deliver scalable, reliable platforms used daily by Qualcomm engineers.
Experience Level
Senior — typically 8+ years of professional software development experience with track record of technical leadership and mentoring.
Responsibilities
Build and operate engineering platforms that improve productivity across multiple engineering domains.
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade full-stack web applications and services.
- Implement modern front-end UIs using React and TypeScript.
- Develop scalable backend services and APIs (Python, Node.js, FastAPI, Express).
- Design and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs and microservices.
- Build and optimize data platforms using relational and NoSQL databases.
- Create automation workflows for infrastructure management, analytics, and reporting.
- Package, deploy, and operate services in containerized/Kubernetes environments.
- Integrate AI/LLM technologies into internal engineering workflows where applicable.
- Troubleshoot production issues related to performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
- Lead architecture and design reviews and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
Must-have
- 8+ years professional software development experience.
- Expert-level Python programming skills.
- Strong JavaScript/TypeScript experience and Node.js familiarity.
- Experience building front-end applications with React.
- Experience building REST APIs and microservices; knowledge of GraphQL is helpful.
- Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB).
- Familiarity with Git workflows, Linux environments, and debugging/performance tuning.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Nice-to-have
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Rancher, CI/CD and cloud-native platforms.
- Experience with message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ), observability tools (Elasticsearch, Kibana, Splunk), and distributed job schedulers (LSF, Slurm).
- Experience developing AI/LLM-powered applications, RAG architectures, or vector databases.
- Experience supporting EDA/CAD, semiconductor design, verification, or HPC environments.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience. Minimum-experience guidelines in the posting: Bachelor's + 4+ years, Master's + 3+ years, or PhD + 2+ years of relevant engineering experience.
