Senior Full Chip Layout and Physical Verification CAD Engineer
Role Summary
Responsible for developing full-chip physical design methodologies and physical verification flows for networking SoCs. Lead development and support of flows required for tapeout and cross-team convergence.
Work closely with full-chip layout owners, block owners, and project managers to ensure timely, high-quality implementation and verification.
Experience Level
Senior β typically requires 5+ years of hands-on full-chip layout and physical verification experience.
Responsibilities
Main responsibilities include:
- Design and develop full-chip physical design methodologies and verification flows across projects.
- Develop, run, debug, and approve physical verification (PV) flows to meet quality and tapeout schedules.
- Drive tapeout activities and ensure timely convergence for networking chips and SoCs.
- Collaborate with full-chip layout owners, block owners, and project managers to resolve cross-team issues.
- Create and maintain flow and tool automation for full-chip physical design and verification.
- Provide technical support and guidance to project teams on PV methodology and closure.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- 5+ years of hands-on full-chip layout and physical verification experience.
- Strong background in PV methodology: DRC, LVS, ANT, ERC, and DFM for advanced process nodes.
- Proficiency in scripting: Python, Tcl, Shell, and Make; experience in Linux environments.
- Familiarity with physical build EDA tools: Synopsys ICC2/FC, Cadence Innovus.
- Familiarity with physical verification tools: Synopsys ICV, Siemens Calibre.
- Self-motivation, attention to detail, and good interpersonal skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with data collection and analysis to improve flows.
- Experience as methodology or flow owner for full-chip place-and-route.
- Demonstrated ownership, self-learning ability, and strong teamwork.
- Orientation to AI tools or willingness to learn them.
Education Requirements
B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
