Senior FPGA Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Join the FPGA Team in Oxford to develop verification infrastructure and testbenches that ensure reliable FPGA-based control systems for IonQβs quantum hardware. You will design, implement, and maintain verification environments and collaborate with RTL designers and cross-functional partners to deliver high-quality control systems.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Architect, develop, and maintain advanced UVM/SystemVerilog verification environments for complex FPGA designs.
- Define and execute verification plans, including constrained-random testing, functional coverage, and code coverage analysis.
- Collaborate with RTL design engineers to debug issues, identify root causes, and ensure high-quality design implementation.
- Develop and maintain automated regression suites and continuous integration pipelines to ensure design stability.
- Own and improve simulation infrastructure and verification best practices.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- 4β6 years of professional FPGA verification experience.
- Strong proficiency in SystemVerilog and UVM for verification environment architecture.
- Experience using Python for test automation and scripting.
- Proven debugging skills and experience working with RTL teams to resolve design issues.
- Experience leading requirements gathering and defining verification plans for complex designs.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with CI systems for hardware verification and automated regression frameworks.
- Familiarity with code coverage tools and scalable simulation flows.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field (explicit requirement in the posting).
