Senior FPGA Verification Engineer
AndurilJob Title
Senior FPGA Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Work on the Imaging team to design and verify FPGA/ASIC functionality for imaging products used in defense applications. The role focuses on verification environment architecture, RTL testbench development, and maturing prototypes through lab and field testing.
This position requires close collaboration with hardware, firmware, and systems engineers to deliver verified designs to production.
Experience Level
Senior - requires substantial experience; the posting specifies 8+ years of relevant FPGA/HDL development and verification experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include designing verification infrastructure and executing comprehensive verification for RTL blocks.
- Architect and implement verification environments using SystemVerilog/OVM/UVM or equivalent frameworks.
- Create written test plans, test cases, and track code and functional coverage.
- Develop testbenches for RTL verification using VHDL and/or SystemVerilog.
- Apply constrained-random testing, functional coverage analysis, and assertion-based verification.
- Recommend and adopt tools and practices to improve ASIC/FPGA verification flow.
- Provide technical leadership for verification teams: break down work, plan activities, and report status.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and qualifications; preferred items are listed separately.
- 8+ years developing HDL firmware for FPGA devices (professional environment).
- Proven ability to design, implement, and execute verification testbenches for RTL using VHDL and/or SystemVerilog.
- Experience with RTL development and simulation using VHDL and/or Verilog.
- Experience applying chip-level verification methodologies: constrained-random testing, functional coverage, and assertion-based verification.
- Experience using revision control systems such as Git or Subversion.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
- Nice-to-have: ASIC/FPGA lab validation and debug, familiarity with DFT and production test concepts.
