Job Title

Senior FPGA/RTL Design Engineer - Signal Processing

Role Summary

Senior engineer on the FPGA Engineering team supporting Silvus Technologies' MIMO wireless networking products. Participate across R&D from concept through field deployment, implementing signal processing algorithms in FPGA logic and supporting RF and software teams.

Position is based in West Los Angeles on a hybrid schedule; minimum three on-site days per week (Mon/Wed/Thu).

Experience Level

Senior. This is an experienced role; see Education Requirements for the employer's years-of-experience equivalences by degree.

Responsibilities

Primary technical responsibilities for this role include:

  • Architect and implement digital designs for wireless communications projects.
  • Design fixed-point signal processing blocks in collaboration with systems engineers.
  • Develop RTL, simulation models, and verification testbenches.
  • Perform FPGA synthesis, timing closure, and resource-optimized implementations.
  • Hardware verification, troubleshooting, and use of logic analyzers.
  • Support RF and software engineering teams for system integration and testing.
  • Participate in field tests and demonstrations, including setup and lab work.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, clearances, and conditions:

  • Demonstrated FPGA design experience implementing digital signal processing algorithms.
  • Experience with fixed-point binary arithmetic and DSP implementations.
  • Proven experience with multiple clock-domain, high-utilization FPGA designs.
  • Experience with Xilinx FPGAs/SoCs and the Vivado toolchain.
  • Strong RTL coding, simulation, and testbench development skills.
  • Experience with FPGA synthesis, timing closure, and hardware verification tools.
  • Familiarity with logic analyzers and lab troubleshooting techniques.
  • Ability to support cross-discipline teams (RF, software) during integration and testing.
  • Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen or permanent resident) due to federal contract requirements.
  • Employment contingent upon successful background check and drug test.
  • Nice-to-have: MATLAB experience; prior work on communication systems implemented on FPGA or ASIC.

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is stated as the baseline. Employer provides alternate experience equivalence: typically 6 years FPGA design experience with a BS, 4 years with an MS, or 2 years with a PhD. Master of Science (MSEE) is listed as preferred. "U.S. Person" requirement is separate from educational credentials.
