Position is based at Silvus headquarters in West Los Angeles, CA on a hybrid schedule (minimum 3 days onsite per week: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday).

Experience Level

Senior-level. The role requires substantial FPGA design experience; see Education Requirements for degree-based experience equivalencies.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include design, implementation, verification, and cross-team support for FPGA systems.

  • Architect digital designs for wireless communication projects.
  • Implement fixed-point signal-processing blocks in collaboration with systems engineers.
  • Write RTL, develop simulations and testbenches.
  • Perform FPGA synthesis, timing closure, and resource optimization.
  • Perform hardware verification and troubleshooting; use logic analyzers as needed.
  • Support RF and software engineering teams during integration and field testing.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and conditions. Preferred items listed separately.

  • 6+ years of demonstrated FPGA design experience (see Education Requirements for degree-based equivalencies).
  • Experience with fixed-point binary arithmetic and digital signal-processing implementations.
  • Proven track record with multi-clock-domain, high-utilization FPGA designs.
  • Hands-on experience with Xilinx FPGAs, SoCs, and the Vivado IDE.
  • Experience with FPGA synthesis and timing closure flows.
  • RTL coding, simulation, and testbench development experience.
  • Hardware verification and troubleshooting skills; familiarity with logic analyzers.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with RF and software teams.
  • Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident) due to federal contract requirements.

Nice-to-have:

  • Basic MATLAB skills.
  • Experience with communication systems implemented on FPGA or ASIC.

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor's degree (BS) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is stated. Experience equivalencies listed in the posting: minimum 6 years FPGA design experience with a BS; 4 years with a Master's (MS); 2 years with a PhD. Preferred: Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE). No specific certifications were listed.
