Senior FPGA IP Solution Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design, develop and verify FPGA soft IP RTL for wireless and high-speed protocol applications. Work within the FPGA IP System & Solution Engineering group to move IP from architecture through RTL, verification, emulation prototyping and hardware validation.

Responsibilities

The role focuses on RTL development and end-to-end IP delivery for high-speed protocol and wireless solutions.

• Participate in high-level product specification and architecture for FPGA IP.
• Design and implement RTL (Verilog/SystemVerilog) for FPGA soft IP cores.
• Develop and execute RTL verification and simulation testbenches.
• Perform FPGA emulation/prototyping and hardware bring-up and validation.
• Collaborate with system architects, verification engineers and software teams to integrate and deliver IP.
• Address timing closure, clock-domain crossing and FPGA constraint issues during design and validation.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and competencies are listed below; nice-to-have items are noted.

• Must: Proficiency in Verilog/SystemVerilog and RTL coding practices.
• Must: Experience in FPGA, custom IC or ASIC design and product development lifecycle (architecture, design, validation).
• Must: Familiarity with simulation and verification tools (examples: Synopsys VCS, Questa, ModelSim).
• Must: Understanding of timing closure, clock-domain crossing and FPGA constraints.
• Nice-to-have: Knowledge of high-speed serial interfaces (Ethernet, CPRI, eCPRI) and familiarity with O-RAN architectures.
• Nice-to-have: Scripting experience (Perl, TCL, Python, shell) to support automation and flows.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work across cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; accountable and proactive contributor.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
