Senior FPGA Implementation Engineer

Role Summary

Deliver FPGA prototyping platforms and image creation/debug flows to support pre-silicon verification of complex SoCs and IP. Work within the global Productivity Engineering FPGA team and collaborate with local and cross-site verification, software and hardware teams.

Responsibilities

The core responsibilities focus on FPGA flow development, automation, deployment and user support.

  • Develop and deploy FPGA image creation and debug flows for system prototyping.
  • Automate FPGA flows and methodologies for distribution to users.
  • Provide operational support for the FPGA service and assist service users.
  • Collaborate with EDA and FPGA vendors to define requirements for next-generation hardware and tools.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and practical experience; separate list of desirable skills.

  • Must-have: FPGA prototyping experience with complex IP, SoC or CPU designs.
  • Expertise in FPGA implementation flows for Xilinx devices, including compilation, debug, performance and advanced feature implementation.
  • Proven track record of debugging and delivering projects independently.
  • Deep understanding of digital design concepts and Verilog coding.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Nice-to-have: Understanding of CPU-based system architecture and verification.
  • Knowledge of Arm system protocols (AHB, AXI, ACE, CHI).
  • Scripting experience (Perl, Python, TCL, Shell).
  • Familiarity with advanced verification techniques (assertions, property checking) and debug tools (e.g. Verdi, Visualizer).
