Role Summary
SRM Digital seeks an experienced FPGA engineer to design, verify, and test FPGA firmware for advanced radio communication systems. The role sits on a cross-functional engineering team based in Rochester, NY and supports defense-related programs.

Senior — minimum 7 years of FPGA design and verification experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Design FPGA architecture and implement RTL for target platforms.
- Develop and maintain VHDL-based RTL and associated testbenches.
- Create SystemVerilog-based verification environments and test plans.
- Integrate, test, and validate FPGA firmware for radio communication systems.
- Debug, optimize performance, and resolve hardware/firmware integration issues.
- Document designs, verification results, and compliance with requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, firmware, systems) throughout development.
- Support program requirements that require obtaining a U.S. Secret clearance.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications and conditions:
- Strong RTL development expertise in VHDL.
- Hands-on experience with FPGA verification methodologies, primarily using SystemVerilog.
- Extensive FPGA design, verification, and firmware testing experience (7+ years).
- Experience with firmware bring-up, validation, and debugging on FPGA platforms.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret security clearance.
- Effective collaboration and communication skills within cross-functional engineering teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with radio or RF communications systems.
Education Requirements
