Senior FPGA Engineer, Intelligence Systems

Role Summary

Join Anduril's Intelligence Systems (AIS) team in Reston, VA to develop, test, and deploy FPGA designs on Xilinx SoC/FPGA platforms for Intelligence Community customers. The role focuses on fast iteration from requirements through board bring-up to deliver mission-capable systems.

Experience Level

Senior β€” requires significant hands-on FPGA design experience. The posting indicates 8+ years of professional FPGA design and development experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include full lifecycle FPGA development, integration, and test:

  • Develop, simulate, and implement FPGA designs on Xilinx SoC/FPGA platforms.
  • Integrate third-party IP when required and validate integrations.
  • Participate in requirements, design, and hands-on board bring-up and testing.
  • Implement signal types including high-speed communications (Ethernet, serial) and analog/digital signal processing.
  • Ensure designs meet safety and performance standards with traceability to system requirements.
  • Investigate and resolve hardware and HDL-level bugs discovered during testing.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and qualifications:

  • Extensive professional experience in FPGA design and development, preferably with Xilinx SoC platforms.
  • Proficiency in VHDL and/or Verilog and experience with simulation tools (ModelSim or similar).
  • Experience with FPGA toolflows such as Vivado or Quartus.
  • Experience with SoC hardware bring-up, preferably on ARM-based systems.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance (currently must possess and maintain one).

Preferred:

  • Experience designing for safety-critical functions and working with high-speed bus interfaces.
  • Experience with systems-on-chip (SoC) and low-level firmware (C/C++) for bring-up and test.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. The posting also requires an active U.S. Secret security clearance. (No mention of Master's/PhD or explicit "or equivalent experience" language.)
