Job Title

Senior FPGA Engineer, Intelligence Systems

Role Summary

Join Anduril's Intelligence Systems team in Reston, VA to develop, test, and deploy FPGA designs on Xilinx SoC/FPGA platforms for intelligence customers. The role focuses on digital circuit design, HDL implementation, hardware bring-up, and delivering production-capable signals and interfaces.

Experience Level

Senior β€” typically requires 8+ years of professional FPGA design and development experience.

Responsibilities

Work across the full hardware design lifecycle from requirements through board bring-up and testing. Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop, simulate, and implement FPGA designs (HDL) on Xilinx SoC/FPGA platforms.
  • Integrate third-party IP when required and validate integration.
  • Implement and verify interfaces and signal types including high-speed communications (Ethernet, serial) and signal processing chains.
  • Perform hands-on hardware bring-up and system-level testing; investigate and resolve bugs at HDL and system level.
  • Ensure designs meet safety and performance requirements with traceability to system-level requirements.

Requirements

Core qualifications and must-have skills:

  • 8+ years of professional FPGA design and development experience.
  • Experience with Xilinx SoC platforms.
  • Proficient in VHDL and/or Verilog.
  • Familiarity with design tools such as Vivado, ModelSim, or Quartus.
  • Experience with SoC hardware bring-up, preferably on ARM-based systems.
  • Ability to possess and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.

Preferred (nice-to-have):

  • Experience designing for safety-critical functions.
  • Experience with FPGA interfaces and high-speed buses.
  • Experience with systems-on-chip (SoC) architectures and low-level firmware (C/C++) for bring-up and test.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, computer engineering, or a related technical field is required or preferred (as stated in the source). No alternative-equivalent language was specified.
