Role Summary
Design, verify, test, and deploy FPGA circuits and systems for satellite and aerospace communication products. Work covers the full development lifecycle from HDL design through lab validation and delivery.
The role begins remote with a planned transition to in-person work at the company's Florida office. The position requires clear technical communication and participation in design reviews and proposal efforts.
Experience Level
Senior — posting specifies a minimum of 4 years of industry or university research experience in FPGA systems at the HDL level.
Responsibilities
Accountable for FPGA development, verification, and system integration across product phases.
- Develop and implement FPGA designs in HDL (Verilog/VHDL) for high-speed serial interfaces, data streams, digital processing cores, and multi-clock domain systems.
- Create and execute verification and validation plans; perform testing and debug in lab and system environments.
- Integrate management interfaces and support deployment to target hardware and platforms.
- Use lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF signal generators, vector signal analyzers) for test and characterization.
- Prepare and present engineering design review materials to customers and executives.
- Contribute to proposal writing and technical documentation.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and constraints.
-
Must-have: 4+ years of FPGA design, verification, and implementation experience at the HDL level.
-
Must-have: Proficiency in Verilog or VHDL and tooling such as Xilinx Vivado, ModelSim, and HDL coder.
-
Must-have: Hands-on experience with lab instruments: digital oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF signal generators, vector signal analyzers.
-
Must-have: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience presenting technical material.
-
Must-have: U.S. person requirement: applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, conditional resident, asylee/refugee, or eligible for required U.S. Department of State authorizations (per U.S. export regulations).
