Senior FPGA Engineer

Role Summary

Join a deep‑tech engineering team developing next‑generation computing systems. Design and optimize FPGA-based systems for real‑time control, signal processing, and high‑speed data acquisition. The role covers architecture, RTL implementation, verification, and system integration with hardware, software, and research teams.

Senior-level: expected multiple years of FPGA engineering experience and technical leadership on design and delivery.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Architect and implement FPGA designs on Xilinx devices for real‑time control, DSP, and high‑speed data acquisition.
  • Develop RTL using SystemVerilog/Verilog and drive synthesis, timing closure, and CDC solutions.
  • Define and execute verification plans; integrate FPGA subsystems with software and board‑level hardware.
  • Optimize performance and resource usage; develop automation and test tooling in Python.
  • Collaborate with research, hardware, and software teams; diagnose and resolve system‑level issues.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

  • Strong FPGA development experience targeting Xilinx devices.
  • Expert knowledge of SystemVerilog or Verilog.
  • Experience with high‑speed interfaces, DSP, and real‑time systems.
  • Proven understanding of timing closure, clock‑domain crossing, and verification methodologies.
  • Python for automation, testing, or tooling.
  • Background in scientific instrumentation, communications, semiconductors, advanced computing, or other complex hardware environments.
