Job Title
Senior FPGA Engineer
Role Summary
Design and verify FPGA-based systems across Xilinx, Altera, and Microsemi device families. Implement VHDL designs for gigabit serial interfaces, RF/EO DSP, controls, data links, and embedded processor interfaces while collaborating with circuit card designers and systems engineers.
Supports the full lifecycle from requirements and architecture through simulation, place-and-route, integration, and test. Benefits include 401(k), dental and health insurance, and paid time off.
Experience Level
Senior β minimum 5 years of relevant FPGA and digital design experience.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include design, implementation, verification, and integration of FPGA solutions:
- Develop and verify VHDL designs for Xilinx, Altera, and Microsemi devices.
- Implement interfaces and algorithms for gigabit serial links, RF/EO DSP, controls, data links, and embedded processing.
- Collaborate with circuit card designers and systems engineers to define requirements and architect solutions.
- Model algorithms, write RTL, simulate, and perform place-and-route.
- Verify designs against requirements and support integration, system-level testing, and debug.
Requirements
Must-have technical qualifications and experience:
- Minimum 5 years FPGA/digital design experience including VHDL coding on Xilinx or Microsemi devices and associated tool flows.
- Proven record delivering FPGA solutions for system-level applications.
- Hands-on experience with hardware integration and debug.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with radar processing techniques.
- Image processing for visual and infrared sensors.
- Embedded systems design with ARM, MicroBlaze, or Nios processors.
- Designs involving gigabit serial interfaces and multi-gigabit transceivers (MGTs).
- Verification experience with constrained-random UVM/SystemVerilog and emulation platforms (e.g., Veloce).
Education Requirements
