Job Title

Senior FPGA Engineer, ASIC/FPGA β€” Mission Systems

Role Summary

Member of the Mission Systems engineering team in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico responsible for design, implementation, verification and integration of high-performance digital ASICs and FPGAs for signal processing and information assurance products.

Hybrid role that requires technical leadership on project design teams, hands-on RTL development, timing closure, verification and system integration.

Experience Level

Senior. The posting specifies degree/experience equivalencies (see Education Requirements) and expects demonstrated experience leading ASIC/FPGA design, verification, and integration activities.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include architecture, RTL design, verification and program support:

  • Capture requirements and define ASIC/FPGA digital architecture.
  • Implement RTL and perform timing analysis and timing closure.
  • Develop and execute verification plans, including testbench development and chip-level verification.
  • Integrate designs into system-level hardware and perform system verification.
  • Recommend toolchain and process improvements for the ASIC/FPGA flow.
  • Provide technical leadership, estimate engineering effort, plan tasks and report status for project teams.

  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance.
  • Professional English communication skills (verbal and written).
  • RTL coding and simulation experience in VHDL or Verilog.
  • Digital circuit architecture and design, including timing analysis and closure.
  • Testbench development and RTL verification experience (SystemVerilog/VHDL).
  • Experience with ASIC/FPGA simulation and synthesis tools (Modelsim, Synplify, Quartus, Vivado or similar).
  • Chip-level verification techniques and familiarity with SystemVerilog.
  • Understanding of Design for Test (DFT) and manufacturability considerations.
  • Familiarity with Unix environments and scripting.
  • Knowledge of revision control concepts and tools (e.g., Git, Subversion).

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with C/C++ or Perl for tooling and scripting.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a STEM field OR equivalent practical experience (specified as 5 years) accepted; alternatively an advanced degree with 3 years of relevant experience. (Source lists degree-equivalency language.)
