Job Title

Senior FPGA Engineer

Role Summary

Design, prototype and validate complex SoC and interconnect IP using FPGA platforms. Work with cross-functional design, verification and software teams to accelerate pre-silicon development and ensure system-level functionality.

Experience Level

Senior β€” typically requires 7+ years of FPGA design, prototyping, or digital hardware experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include FPGA prototyping, bring-up, validation and automation to support ASIC/SoC development.

  • Design and implement FPGA-based prototypes for SoC and interconnect IP.
  • Develop RTL in Verilog/SystemVerilog and integrate IP into FPGA environments.
  • Bring up, debug and validate FPGA platforms for pre-silicon verification.
  • Optimize designs for performance, timing and resource utilization.
  • Create testbenches, scripts and automation for validation and regression flows.
  • Collaborate with design, verification and software teams on system-level issues.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; bonus items listed separately.

  • Strong RTL design skills in Verilog/SystemVerilog.
  • 7+ years experience in FPGA design, prototyping, or digital hardware development.
  • Experience with FPGA platforms and toolchains (Xilinx, Intel/Altera).
  • Solid understanding of SoC architecture, interconnects and memory subsystems.
  • Experience with lab bring-up and debugging tools (logic analyzers, waveform viewers).
  • Proficiency in scripting for automation (Python, Tcl, or similar).

Nice-to-have:

  • FPGA-based prototyping experience for ASIC/SoC development.
  • Knowledge of AMBA protocols (AXI, ACE, CHI) or similar.
  • Familiarity with emulation/hybrid prototyping and EDA tools.
  • Experience with performance analysis and system-level validation.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related technical field.
