Senior FPGA Engineer

Role Summary

Senior FPGA Engineer responsible for designing, implementing, and delivering FPGA-based solutions for RF and DSP applications. Work within an engineering team to take designs from concept through production release.

Position is fully onsite in Huntsville, AL; relocation assistance is offered.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Significant prior FPGA and digital design experience expected (specific years not stated).

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include hands-on FPGA design, verification, and cross-discipline integration.

  • Develop FPGA architectures and implement designs for RF and DSP applications.
  • Write and maintain HDL code (design, simulation, synthesis, and implementation).
  • Work timing constraints and perform timing closure for target devices.
  • Debug and validate designs in lab and system-level test environments.
  • Collaborate with systems, software, and hardware engineers to ensure requirements are met.
  • Prepare design documentation and support production release activities.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and work conditions.

  • Proven experience in FPGA design for RF and/or DSP applications.
  • Proficiency in HDL coding, simulation, synthesis, and implementation flows.
  • Experience managing timing constraints and achieving timing closure.
  • Hands-on debugging and validation experience in lab/test environments.
  • Able to work 100% onsite in Huntsville, AL.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience supporting product release and transition to production.
  • Mentoring or leadership experience on engineering teams.
